Forums are communities, if all you do is lurk (never post) then you will never get to see the best parts of the forum, currently you need 5 posts before you can see the members area. All it takes is a few thank you replies for the posts you've enjoyed.

It should also be noted that members who make 5 or 6 meaningless posts within a very short period of time just to gain access to the members section will have their account deleted.

Giving thanks to posters for their work

Don't just use one word replies like

Thanks
Great
TNX!
Good

Its nice to include the posters name. : Thanks Paul
Its even better when you use a few smilies. :  Great site - thanks Paul  smi20

Reporting dead links

If you find a dead links you must reply to the post with this graphic RIP
If you do not use that graphic the moderators can't find them using the search engine
it is no good just saying the link is dead you must include that graphic image as well.
You will see it in the smilies when you click the reply button.

Posting Passes (guidelines)

You can post passes any way you like but this is the preferred method.

lets say you have .... http://abc:def@somepaysite.com/members/

Use the domain name as the Subject: somepaysite.com

Avoid including the user name and password in the link.

http://abc:def@somepaysite.com/members/

http://somepaysite.com/members/

abc:def

Better still avoid linking directly to the members area, this forces people to preview the site first and makes the pass last longer.

http://somepaysite.com/   thumbsup

abc:def

Thanks for reading and enjoy your visits  smi23
